Mitsubishi faces a quite delicate situation as they are forced to recall no less than 14,700 i-MiEV units due to a major issue recently discovered.
According to the Japanese carmaker, all i-MiEV models built from December 2, 2011 to September 7, 2012, might have serious brake issues.
All the problems relate to the brake system vacuum pump which in certain situations, it may fail. If this happens, you won’t lose control of your car but the brake distance will certainly get bigger.
Until now, there are no complaints or incidents happened due to this issue but of course, Mitsubishi can’t leave the situation like this.
Therefore, all i-MiEV clients, 1,402 of them being U.S. customers, will be asked to visit a dealership. The Japanese company will fix the problem, namely replace the pump, free of charge. More information on this recall can be obtained by contacting any Mitsubishi dealership.
