Skoda officially unveiled the all-new Octavia with a facelifted styling and a lot of interesting characteristics inside, while the engine lineup comprises rather the same mills. However, the details inside were fully revealed just a while ago and are listed below.
The cabin`s main highlight is the new 9.2-inch infotainment systems, with fine finger touch and lots of functions, adding high-quality glass design, MirrorLink, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard, as well as Wi-Fi hotspot and HD display.
The higher versions such as Ambient, also get the new black/brown combo, ambient lighting, center console with new bottle holders, heated steering wheel, three customizable keys, assistance systems, indoor and outdoor lighting, Climatronic, infotainment systems and so on.
The same Ambition version and the Style and Laurin & Klement models also received wireless charging dock, 230-volt USB ports and more. In the safety department, the new Octavia tweaks Predictive Pedestrian Protection on the Front Assist, Blind Spot Detection, Rear Traffic Alert, Parking Assistant, rearview camera and rear radar.
In the engine department, the new Octavia is equipped with rather the same mills, meaning five petrol burners and four diesels. The petrol lineup comprises a 1.0-liter with 84 horsepower, as well as the the 2.0-liter engine with 184 horsepower, both hooked to a six-speed and a seven-speed DSG automatic transmission.
On the diesels side, there are also the 1.8-liter TSI and the 2.0-liter TDI worth mentioning, sending the power to all wheels. All versions also come with improved steering and driving capabilities, thanks to the Dynamic Chassis Control, adding as well three driving modes – Comfort, Normal and Sport – and other fine mechanics.
