Not only BMW or Mercedes-Benz are working on new and much bigger SUVs, as Audi is also testing out the upcoming A8, which is set to arrive on the market somewhere in 2018, as the main contender of the brand-new X6 or Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe.

And just like BMW`s new X7, the Q8 from Audi is going to be one big monster, sharing plenty of design lines from the Q8 Concept, unveiled at the 2017 NAIAS, in Detroit, last month.

This means that it will also add the concept`s new and extremely wide grille, long-orizontal LED strip, slooping rear roofline for a more Coupe-like look, or fresh taillight design. Other features are also meant to make the Q8 extremely evolutionary and more aggressive.

The future Audi Q8 will also stand on the company`s new MLB platform, also underpinning the Q7 sibling, meaning increase space inside and a wide range of engines under the hood. This would be all possible to the new aluminum and carbon fiber composites.

Speaking of the interior, the Q8 is said to come with plenty of the latest gadgetries, like OLED HD displays, autonomous driving systems, and plenty of other systems, also found on the A6, A7 or A8 luxury saloon model.

In the engine department, the new 2018 Audi Q8 coupe will come with a wide range of petrol burners and diesels, adding as well some new hybrids. Also, the high-end model is also expected to pack a high-performance 4.0-liter triple-turbocharged V8 diesel, borrowed from the SQ7, and a plug-in variant from Porsche. The company will also build an RS concept of the Q8, rumored to officially arrive at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show.
