BMW decided to take the wraps off the new M2, a high-performance model that comes with a modern look, plenty of power and smaller dimensions.
As you probably know, the new model replaces the current BMW 1-Series M Coupe and brings some extra features to make it more attractive. To begin with, power is provided by a 3.0-liter M TwinPower Turbo engine. With 365 horsepower and 343 lb-ft (464 Nm) of torque, the 0-100 km/h sprint is possible in 4,4 seconds with a top speed of limited at 250 km/h.
You can improve the acceleration time by 0,2 seconds if you opt for the seven-speed M Double Clutch Transmission instead of the standard six-speed manual one.
Styling features include new front and rear bumpers with large air intakes, a revised front grille, 19-inch forged aluminum wheels with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires and widened wheel arches. The rear is dominated by a quad-pipe exhaust system integrated into the new diffuser.
Enter the cabin and you will find new sports steering wheel with leather, M logos, carbon fiber trim, Dakota leather sport seats, a tweaked center console and contrast stitching. Besides the raw power and refined styling, the 2016 BMW M2 also boasts cutting-edge technologies such as an aluminum suspension, vented and perforated discs part of the braking system as well as electronic power steering and an Active M Differential.
