The American folks at Chevrolet released official EPA-estimated fuel economy figures for the Cruze Diesel, claiming that it manages to deliver the best non-hybrid mileage for a passenger car.
The new Chevrolet Cruze Diesel benefits from a 2.0-liter four-cylinder unit producing 148 horsepower and 350Nm of torque. It makes the 0-100 km/h sprint in 8,6 seconds and returns a highway consumption of 46mpg US.
This will let you to drive for about 1,120 kilometers before you have to stop at the gas station.
“The Cruze Diesel is the best diesel passenger car out there. Chevrolet is redefining the meaning of great fuel economy with this car,” says the carmaker.
U.S. buyers interested in the more frugal diesel variant of the 2014 Chevrolet Cruze should know that the new model goes on sale later this year with a starting price of $25,695, a price tag which also includes the destination and handling fee.
