The new-generation Mercedes C-Class is expected to be revealed in world premiere at the upcoming North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Today, we find more details about the German model which will share the same platform with the new GLK, namely the MRA platform.
Current rumors say that the new C-Class will be 90mm longer with a wheelbase of 2,850mm and will also be 80 kilograms lighter.
Under the bonnet expect to see a wide range of engines including both existent and new powerplants.
A hybrid version of the new Mercedes C-Class is also very likely to be seen while in terms of body styles, recent reports are indicating the debut of a liftback model.
Of course, let’s not forget about the 2014 Mercedes C63 AMG which should get a powerful 525-horsepower 5.5-liter V8 powerplant and the AMG design cues. With this been said, let’s wait for the 2014 NAIAS in January.
