Fiat announced their plans to introduce the new 500L in the United States starting next year.
The Fiat 500L is a minivan based on the well-known 500, a model which measures 4,1 meters long and 1,7 meters wide.
Under the bonnet, the European customers will find a 0.9-liter TwinAir petrol engine developing 104 horsepower and also a 1.4-liter naturally aspirated unit with 94 horses.
There is also a more frugal 1.3-liter turbodiesel capable to offer 84 horsepower. Besides the generous dimensions, the company says that the model comes with a boot capacity of 400 liters and can easily accommodate five passengers inside.
The new Fiat 500L will be produced in Serbia at the plant in Kragujevac, the Italian company planning to extend the engine range with a new Turbo TwinAir unit capable to run on natural gas. The benefits of using natural gas are well known, so, it remains to be seen where the new engine will be positioned in range.
