Ford officially unveiled the new Explorer Platinum, a model that will be available starting this fall. If you know about Ford’s trim levels, you know that the word “Platinum” indicates a range-topping model.
That’s also the case here, the Ford Explorer Platinum benefiting from several features both at the exterior and interior. Before we get to them, we have to tell you that power is offered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine using the company’s EcoBoost technology.
It is linked toa six-speed automatic transmission and delivers 365 horsepower and 350 lb-ft or 474 Nm of torque. Among the features we include the standard four-wheel drive system, large 20-inch alloy wheels and LED headlights.
Other noteworthy ones are the revised skid plates, a dual-panel moonroof and a powerful Sony audio system. Buyers will also enjoy a heated steering wheel with leather and wood inserts, a digital instrument cluster, aluminum accents and perforated Nirvana leather seats.
“Platinum edition combines the performance of the popular Explorer Sport with new levels of comfort and craftsmanship inside, offering customers the most well-appointed Ford SUV yet,” proudly says the company.
