The future Volkswagen Phaeton model was recently launched online in a rendering signed by the famous designer Theophilus Chin, showcasing the luxury model from an entire new perspective.
Perhaps the idea of a rendering with a future Phaeton model, is to turn the eyes away from the already unveiled Passat and the Bentley lineup and turn them to a new-gen Phaeton model.
It is now up to the German based automaker if such a model will be manufactured, meaning that the model in case would have to be a larger Passat, also coming with a lot of tweaks inside and performance.
To go back, the Volkswagen Phaeton was first introduced on the market in 2002, coming with a longitudinal front engine and a 4Motion all-wheel drive system.
The Volkswagen Phaeton also comes with some touches from the Bentley Continental GT and the Continental Flying Spur, with two facelifts to bear, for 2007 as well as for 2010.
Under the hood, similarities with the aforementioned models are also visible, as the Phaeton model comes with three petrol engines and two diesels.
The engines are hooked to two automatic transmissions, built by ZF.
