The legendary Japanese roadster will soon see British showroom floors in a couple of special edition variants.
Borrowing its name from a Japanese holiday island this particular special edition will be called the Mazda MX-5 Miyako.
The special edition MX-5 has in itself 2 models and they will both go on sale just a couple of days away, in July first. There is a slight issue with the number of units available, only 500 will be made. And if you consider the massive sales success the MX-5 is and always has been these may run out faster then limited edition Ferrari’s.
The two options for the special edition are the 126HP 1.8i Miyako soft-top priced at an actual £18,385 on the road and the more powerful 160HP 2.0i Miyako roadster coupe with a folding hardtop priced at £20,885.
The special part about this edition will be in a few touches such as 17-inch alloy wheels, standard fog lamps and a front suspension strut brace for improved steering response. Both versions of the MX-5 Miyako will be available in Aluminium Silver Metallic, while the soft-top will also be offered in Velocity Red Mica free of charge. As far as the interior is concerned you will be getting Medici premium perforated black leather trim with a red underlay and stitching, special badging, floor mats and standard climate control air-conditioning.
