The Japanese folks at Nissan decided to show us the Maxima Safety Car, a new model that got the correct livery for this job. Being a safety car means that is should be quite powerful so it can react quickly if needed.
However, the company denied to reveal what engine this car uses, so it could be the stock 3.5-liter V6 which has 300 horsepower and 353 Nm of torque. Seen at the Oak Tree Grand Prix, an event held at the Virginia International Raceway, the model is instantly noticeable.
It has a grey exterior finish with black and red badges, the “safety car” stickers as well as black alloy wheels and black door mirror caps. The single photo provided by Nissan shows the front end of the car but we would like to see the rear as well.
“The car will perform the same duties at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, during the Lone Star Le Mans race Sept. 17-19,” says Nissan.
