Opel released details and photos on the Zafira Tourer 1.6 CDTI ecoFLEX, a fuel-efficient version of the German model. Under the hood sits a 1.6-liter CDTI diesel engine capable to produce 120 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque.
The total output of the German tourer car is not necessarily impressive but the fuel economy figures are very good.
To be more specific, Opel says that the Zafira Tourer 1.6 CDTI ecoFLEX returns 4,5 liters/100 km or 62,7 mpg UK. CO2 emissions are also kept at a low level of 119 g/km.
In order to achieve these figures, Opel opted for a brake energy recuperation system, a low-friction six-speed manual transmission and of course, a start/stop system.
Opel prices the Zafira Tourer 1.6 CDTI ecoFLEX at €26,850 in Germany. The fuel-efficient model is currently on sale in the home market.
