Following the official unveiling of the Citroen C5, which was considered as being “unmistakable German”, another French based carmaker has launched a Passat-like model, the long-rumored Renault Talisman.
Perhaps we are looking here about the French interpretation of the world`s most premium sedan, which would indeed tackle the new Volkswagen Passat, with its massive body style and striking resemblance with the German premium car.
And the engineers from Renault has not hesitated bragging about the whole hours spent on this model, praising its fine and luxurious design lines, massive interior space and a worthy engine lineup under the hood, to fight back the Passat model.
Other than the extreme body size, the Renault representatives have also bragged with the car`s fuel efficiency, fun driving as well as low emissions, along with the high-performance engine lineup. We are talking here about the TCe 150 and the TCe 200 coming with the 1.6-liter, also found on the Clio or the new Espace MPV, with power between 150 HP and 200 HP.
On the diesel side, we are also looking at the same 1.6-liter, filling the DCi 110, the DCi 130 as well as the with DCi160, with a twin-turbo setup and hooked to a six-speed dual clutch transmission. Apart these features, I can`t find anything that would indeed put off the new Passat. Meanwhile, enjoy the photo gallery as well as the video with the new Renault Talisman!
