A rumor has recently surfaced regarding the revival of the GTi series from Peugeot with the arrival of the 208 GTi. Though we might need to tell you that you should take this with a grain of salt because nothing is 100 percent certain at the moment.
The Peugeot 208 GTi will most likely be a hybrid, featuring a 1.6-litre turbo engine that sports almost 200 hp that will take care of the front wheels, coupled with a 36 hp electric motor for the rear wheels. So that means that the 208 GTi will have all-wheel drive. Thanks to the petrol engine, the Peugeot 208 GTi will manage to go from 0 to 62 mph in 6.9 seconds, with a top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h). A sport suspension will also be present to offer more handling.
In the looks department, the Peugeot 208 GTi is said to be packing a package that will make people’s heads turn and will cover big rims, a roof spoiler and a center exhaust. Not many details are available at the moment. We will see if the rumor turns out to be true.
