The French people from Peugeot unveiled a new revolutionary concept, this time in form of a six-seater MPV powered by a hybrid system. In terms of dimensions, the HX1 Hybrid4 is 4,9 meters long, 1,9 meters wide and only 1,3 meters tall. Even the exterior design won’t tell you too much regarding the passenger space, Peugeot claims that the concept can accommodate six persons.
Under the bonnet, the new Peugeot HX1 packs a 2.2-liter diesel unit offering 204 horsepower along an electric motor which delivers 95 horsepower. The electric unit is placed in the rear and powers the rear axle while the diesel unit sends the power to the front wheel via a six-speed automatic transmission.
The driving range in the fully electric mode is 30 kilometers as the model packs a lithium-ion battery able to charge from a standard 240V socket. Used in the hybrid mode, the HX1 concept returns a fuel economy of 3,2 liters/100 km and CO2 emissions of 83 g/km.
Therefore, the Peugeot concept is a four-wheel drive six-seater MPV able to develop 299 horsepower and also provide a fully electric mode.
The diesel-electric Hybrid4 powertrain from Peugeot will be introduced somewhere next year on the 508 RXH model. Peugeot will unveil the concept at the upcoming Frankfurt Auto Show.
