Porsche released details on the “Black Edition” dedicated to the current Cayman S. Expectable, this special edition that will be available just in 500 units brings aesthetic improvements but also few additional horses under the bonnet. Namely, the 3.4-liter unit available for Cayman S offers 325 horsepower and 370 Nm of torque, just around 10 extra ponies being available, nothing impressive indeed.
Due to the increased performance, the Cayman S Black Edition sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 4,8 seconds when it comes with the seven-speed PDK transmission and hits a top speed of 278 km/h.
On the other hand, there are some aesthetic tweaks that have to be mentioned such as the black exterior finish, special badging for the door sills, bi-xenon headlights, Boxster Spyder 19-inch alloy wheels in the same dark colour fitted with 235/35ZR19 (front) and 265/35ZR19 (rear) tires.
Inside, the Germans fitted the special edition with a new Sport Design steering wheel while a new black leather upholstery completes the aesthetic tweaks. The German model will be available starting September 2011 and it’s priced at £50,420 in the UK.
