Renault has revealed the new generation of Espace, its large SUV model, in which it has renewed a more aesthetically striking design identity that corresponds to Renault’s current branding. Today it is the largest model in the range of Renault’s SUV. The Espace is complemented by its counterpart, the Austral, a notable change in the car’s exterior design that was inspired by the Rafale.

The Espace was introduced less than two years ago but going by this latest model, it has been given a facelift that gives it a much more menacing outlook. This transformation is done in line with and borrows much from the Rafale, Espace’s platform sibling. Now the headlights are inspired by the appearance of the Rafale, while the overall design demonstrates that, meanwhile, the front of the Espace is modern and assertive. Although it has been downsized and made sleeker to complement Espace’s more imposing character, it still has a serious and muscular feature without looking sports-oriented. The corporate front grille, which is made up of interlocking small diamonds, underscores the logo of Renault while at the same time underscoring the fact that it is an exclusive make of automobiles.

For the same reason, the rear part of the Espace has also been updated with new optical items, which, together with the redesigned front part, gives the car a unified and modern look, enhancing the SUV’s presence on the road. This stamp shows that Renault is now determined to maintain coherent designs on most of the SUV models that it plans to develop in the future.

As for changing the essence of the Espace, there are other transformations that are less apparent than the ones we have discussed above. There is currently a new availability of the Solarbay panoramic roof, which is the biggest in the Renault family. Stretching to a length of 1.7 meters and a width of 1.13 meters, this large roof can be controlled to have some parts lowered down while others are closed by merely using button control, thus improving the comfort of the passengers as well as the feeling of openness. In addition to this, Renault has enhanced the soundproofing in the car, as well as the use of new advanced materials for the comfort of front seats.

Besides the interior decorative features, there are new options for the car, such as the attention control system that would increase driving safety and awareness levels. However, what makes the article noteworthy is that the mechanical aspects of the Espace have not been altered in any way. It also maintains the drivetrain setup of the 1.2-liter full-hybrid drive system with two electric motors and the 4Control all-wheel steering for better maneuvering of the car within city streets and greater stability on the highways.

Although Renault has not declared the price of the new Espace, there is an expectation that the Austral will also undergo a similar process with a harmonized sequence of three for all its SUVs. With this facelift, the Renault Espace is set to become a bolder and more authoritative family car, embodying the innovative outlook of the brand.
