The VW group has shown what it can do for the market of four door coupes with the Volkswagen Passat CC and the Audi A5 Sportback and now it wows us with what the German group can do for the world of these cars.
I say what it can do for the world of these cars as what we have here is the application of such a design concept to the world of mainstream cars.
The mainstream brand chosen here is Skoda, and the car in question is the Superb. The Skoda Superb has just been envisioned as a four door coupe and branded with a new name, the Fastback.
While for now all we have are the drawings, I think we can be pleased with the work done on them by their creator, Czech architect and designer Pavel Hrubyi. Hrubyi completely redesigned the Superb II from the B-column and back making for a more rakish roofline and getting rid of the production model’s frumpy rear end with the dual opening boot lid.
All in all, credit were credit is due and I think Skoda should really take this car to the drawing board and start working on it.
