Skoda is ready to fight against other top SUVs with the future VisionS Concept, which will lead the way for the upcoming Kodiak production model, at least this is what rumors state.
A couple of days ago, the Czech carmaker released some teaser images with the upcoming VisionS Concept, but little it was known about the exterior, interior or performance detailing. Now, the model is ending up in our news again in some fresh info concerning powertrain.
As we knew so far, the concept adopts a more radical design, highlighted by the updated MQB multifunctional platform, which will underpin an impressive plug-in hybrid with a conventional engine and two electric motors, displayed up-front and at the back.
We are dealing here with a conventional 1.4-liter turbocharged gasoline engine hooked to an electric motor displayed at the front via a six-speed DSG. The engine and the electric motor generates 210 horsepower and 306 Nm of torque.
A second electric motor is positioned at the rear axle, outputting additional 115 horsepower and 220 Nm of torque. This would be enough for the lithium-ion battery to generate an electric range of 50 kilometers. In terms of fuel economy, the concept comes with 1.0L/100 km, while the CO2 emissions stand at just 45 g/km.
