The road opener for super fast saloons, the Maserati Quattroporte, is soon to come to life within a new version.
And some information on that particular, eagerly anticipated, replacement is what we’ve got right now.
The next-generation of Maserati’s Quattroporte flagship is due out in 2012 and the Italians are working away at it as much as possible. It would only seem logical, since Ferrari said they will never do a four door super saloon and should you want such a thing you can find it at Maserati.
According to Maserati CEO Harald Wester some of the kit available on the next Quattroporte will be stuff linke four-wheel-drive and stop-start technology.
Further more, the development process is focused on the new platform they will be using, it will eventually be used on all top of the line models Chrysler and Fiat have to offer.
The next-generation Maserati Quattroporte be about 15% lighter and increase fuel efficiency will jump by 25 percent. Beside the stop-start gadget a contribution from some fuel-efficient V6 and V8 engine along with an 8-speed transmission will take their own credit to the equation.
