Korando Sports is the newest model of Ssangyong, a car which is specially designed for the South Korean market and is based on the SUT 1 concept revealed at the Geneva Motor Show in 2011. Ssangyong describes the new Korando Sports as a leisure utility vehicle able to successfully replace the Actyon Sports.
Under the bonnet sits a 2.0-liter e-XDi200 diesel unit able to deliver 155 horsepower and return a combined fuel economy of 6,4 liters/100 km (36,7mpg US).
According to the Korean company, the new Korando Sports will be offered as a rear or all-wheel drive model while they also confirm that the diesel engine which equips the model meets the Euro5 regulations.
“Korando Sports, the representative Korean LUV that is optimized to meet the needs of customers who enjoy outdoor activities, is the new flagship model of Ssangyong Motor that will expand the scope of automotive culture and bring a new sensation to the Korean automotive market,” said Lee Yoo-il, CEO of Ssangyong Motor.
