The Japanese people from Suzuki announced three new models that will debut at the upcoming Tokyo Auto Show. To be more precise, Suzuki plans to introduce three concepts at Tokyo, prototypes which could announce a new series model in the future.
However, today we will talk about the third concept, a model which is very likely to be introduced in mass production as it is based on the current-generation Swift. We talk about Suzuki Swift EV Hybrid, a fuel efficient prototype of the new Suzuki Swift.
The hybrid powertrain features an electric motor and a petrol engine able to work together and deliver decent performance and impressive fuel consumption. Even the full list of technical specifications is not available yet, Suzuki claims that the new Swift EV Hybrid can run around 30 kilometers with zero emissions. After that, the petrol unit will recharge the lithium-ion battery pack.
The Japanese company also revised the exterior and interior appearance by replacing the front and rear optical blocks, adding a new front grille and fitting the wheels with aerodynamic covers. The interior gets a reworked instrument panel along with a tweaked center console.
