It seems that the Swedish over at Volvo are even more sensible than ever as they are offering a new option for the engine choice for the S60 starting with the 2012 model year.
The offer isn’t that simple, this is something Volvo will be giving people in the US as so far they only had one choice.
If you’re a resident of the US and you’re interested in getting what can only be described as the safest saloon out there you could only have the T6 All Wheel Drive version of the 2011 Volvo S60.
Soon however you will get to have a choice for a “base” model which will be powered by Volvo’s T5 engine only it will be available in revised form. I’m not convinced that is a base model of the car as in Europe Volvo is offering more engine choices for the S60 and even a choice between fuels.
Either way, the revised version of the S60’s T5 will serve up a bit of an extra punch and thus totaling 250 horsepower at your disposal from a 2.5 liter inline 5 cylinder engine that’s turbocharged.
Don’t get to excited yet as the 2012 model year is there for a reason as it seems it will take Volvo quite some time to have the new revised T5 overseas.
