The Japanese people from Mazda brought the facelift version of Mazda3 at the New York Auto Show and released new details of their revised model. Comparing the facelift version with the previous Mazda3 you won’t see any major improvements, just a new Skyactiv-G 115-horsepower unit being added to the engine range for the US customers.
The unit in question achieves a high compression ratio of 12.0:1 and is able to deliver 200 Nm of torque being accompanied by a six-speed manual transmission. According to the official press release, the Skyactiv-G unit will be able to offer a fuel consumption of just 7,1 liters/100 km.
Mazda claims that the facelift version also benefits from a revised structure that provides better handling, a reworked suspension and the EHPAS (Electro-Hydraulic Power Assist Steering) system which also plays an important role.
On the other hand, the aesthetic improvements include a a new front grille, revised bumpers and fog lights but also a new set of alloy wheels. Additional safety features such as Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM), Adaptive Front-Lighting System (AFS) but also well-known systems as ABS, EBD, DSC are available in standard.
