It’s been a while since we talked about a new tuning package specially developed for a model bearing Porsche’s badge. The second generation Cayenne was the model which has passed in the spotlight, almost of the tuning packages being designed for the new German SUV.
However, the Russians from TOPCAR decided to create a new package for the current Porsche Panamera, a complete tuning kit that almost makes you think that you are not driving a Porsche. The price tag of this package is quite spicy but we will talk about this detail in the end of the post.
The Russian tuners hesitate to reveal too many details on the mechanical improvements of the new tuning kit, claiming that the 4.8-liter unit that fits the German model will be modified in order to deliver around 600 horsepower. The additional power will be mainly provided by a new exhaust system, a sport air filter and a new intake manifold. A second performance upgrade which is currently under development will be able to increase the total amount to over 700 horsepower but there are no further details on this.
On the other hand, the styling package prepared for the current generation Panamera, known as Stingray GTR, consists of an aerodynamic body kit that features new front and rear bumpers, side skirts, wider wheel arches, a new hood, redesigned doors, a rear diffuser and a new rear wing placed on the trunk. Undoubtedly, the styling package significantly increases the aggressivity of the German model through a series of massive components, all in a black sober finish.
By mounting a complex body kit like this, the Russian tuners needed to be carefully with the total mass of the model, that’s why in the manufacturing process they used the well-known carbon fiber which provides both lightweight and lasting components but also Kevlar, a very rigid material used in manufacturing helmets. The interior suffered few modifications too, a new leather upholstery and carbon fiber trim being available.
TOPCAR already received four orders for the new Porsche Panamera Stingray GTR, a total of 25 units following to be delivered by the Russians. As we mentioned above, this tuning kit comes with a pretty spicy price tag, the tuners setting a price of €45,000 for the aerodynamic package while there are no details on the costs of the mechanical improvements.
