Toyota unveiled today the FT-86 Open concept, a convertible version of the well-known Japanese sports car.
According to the current information, under the hood we should find the same 2.0-liter four-cylinder unit producing 200 horsepower and 205Nm of torque.
The Japanese concept sports an electric soft-top while inside, you will find white and navy blue inserts, alloy wheels and a revised infotainment system.
“The concept has been designed to deliver the lively, highly engaging and accessible performance and dynamic abilities of the GT86 with the added appeal of top-down motoring,” claims Toyota.
For now, this is just a concept version which, most likely, is designed to preview an upcoming convertible version of the Toyota GT86.
The Japanese carmaker wants to see how the open-top FT-86 concept will be received by the public. According to the audience feedback, they will consider entering series production.
