Toyota published the pricing for the new GT-86 sports car in Japan. The production of the Japanese model is expected to begin on March 12, the Scion FR-S which is the American brother of the GT-86 following to enter the market in the same period.

The entry-level Toyota GT-86 is priced from $25,600 and benefits from the Customize Grade. Next up is the G trim level starting from $31,000, the GT model which costs $35,900 but also the top-of-the-range GT Limited Edition from $38,000.

The Japanese model sports a 2.0-liter boxer engine offering 200 horsepower and 151 lb-ft of torque. The four-cylinder engine is coupled to a six-speed manual transmission while the model benefits from a limited-slip differential but also aluminum pedals and sports steering wheel at the interior.

It remains to be seen if the new Toyota GT-86 will be a best seller mainly considering its price tag in comparison to other models in the segment. The GT-86 is 4,2 meters long, has a height of 1,2 meters and a wheelbase of 2,5 meters.
