If you live in the UK and want a viable and an efficient fuel-consumption car, especially designed for the city, then you should take into account the newly-arrived 2017 Toyota Yaris on the local market.
Toyota UK has announced that the model is already available from £12,495 in the Active grade, and can go all the way up to £19,295 in the Excel variant.
All variants are equipped with the latest safety systems as standard – Pre-Collision System, Lane Departure Alert, Automatic High-Beam, and so on – adding improved materials inside and updated infotainment system and satellite navigation.
The car`s main highlight is on its extremely fuel-efficient engines under the hood. We are dealing here with a new engine as well – the 1.5-liter petrol and updated hybrid powertrain – which replaces the ongoing 1.3-liter pot.
This one takes off with 110 horsepower and 136 Nm of torque, with the model burning out just 56.6 mpg UK. The CO2 emissions are also set at just 109 g/km, after the pre-homologation tests.
This means that for the city purposes, the 2017 Toyota Yaris is quite a sprinter, allowing an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 11 seconds, achieved with the standard six-speed manual transmission. The CVT will also be offered as an optional.
The car`s new hybrid powertrain provides a better “hybrid driving experience”, as the carmaker claims, thanks to the new mechanics – new sub-frame, front driveshafts, roll restrictor and engine mounts – offering as well a quitter acceleration and increased driving capabilities.
