In the United Kingdom, Honda will introduce a fresh new entry-level mill for its Civic Sport version, joining thus the other two engines available.
We are dealing here with the 1.4-liter flat-four petrol which is available from £18,360, and will join the 1.6-liter diesel available from £19,995 and the higher 1.8-liter petrol which costs £21,190.
The Honda Civic Sport with the entry-level 1.4-liter naturally-aspirated engine develops 99 bhp and will tackle the Ford Focus`s 1.0-liter ECoobost Zetec or the Vauxhall Astra`s 1.4-liter Sri, the latter one developing the same 99 bhp. Both models are available at £18,595.
In terms of visuals, the all-new Honda Civic Sport 1.4L borrows most of the design cues of its bigger brother, the Civic Type R, also sharing most of its mechanical bits.
The performance figure shows a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 13.5 seconds, at a topping of 186 km/h.
The 1.4-liter naturally-aspirated was introduced to provide more fuel-efficiency and less CO2 emissions. The company states that the Honda Civic Sport comes with a 51.4 mpg combined, meaning just 5.49 L per each 100 km/ in terms of CO2 emissions, the model returns 131 g/km.
