Subaru carmaker is well-known for building durable and extremely reliable cars, all packed with the latest technology.
Recently, the company announced the availability of the all-new Levorg lineup in the United Kingdom, all versions featuring the latest safety technology, all part of the new EyeSight system.
The EyeSight system is extremely efficient, especially at night, the technology being able to spot pedestrians in the darkest conditions, and automatically stopping the car. We are looking here at a “purely optically” system, capable of saving lives while driving in difficult traffic conditions.
The EyeSight uses two camera lenses which are mounted on the car`s rearview mirror, on both sides, creating what the carmaker calls a “stereoscopic image”. Once detecting the slightest movements which cannot be spotted on normal conditions by the human eye, the emergency braking system automatically activates itself, being able to avoid accidents at speeds of 45 km/h.
The EyeSight technology will be closely working with the car`s other safety features, such as Pre-Collision braking, Pre-Collision Throttle Management, Pre-Collision Steering Assist, Lead Vehicle Start Alert, Lane Departure Warning & Sway Warning, or Adaptive Cruise Control.
The main reason that the carmaker decided to add the EyeSight system to the Levorg lineup was its proven efficiency on other high-end models, the technology being able to reduce crash accidents by up to 61 percent, between 2010 and 2014.
