US: 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line Launches with New Styling Packages

Following the success of the all-new Volkswagen Tiguan in Europe, US and other markets, the German based Group decided to launch some new editions that would help increase the SUV`s overall sales.

In the United States for instance, the battle in the crossover segment is thought between the Japanese and Korean carmakers, and Volkswagen wants to take its fair share by launching a special edition, like the 2018 Tiguan R-Line.

The new 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line comes with standout features at the exterior and high-end materials and gadgets inside the cabin. It comes available in two trim levels – SEL and SEL Premium.

The SEL variant comes with a $1,795 package worth of exquisite features, while the SEL Premium has been equipped with the $1,495 package, and enhanced with additional tweaks as well.

The 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line in both its variants comes with a more aggressive design language, enhanced by sports front and rear bumpers, gloss black spoiler and diffuser, new side skirts and body colour wheelarch extensions. The only noticeable difference at the exterior is the new set of 19-inch “Trenton” aluminum wheels for the SEL and 20-inch “Braselton” aluminum alloy wheels for the SEL Premium.

As for interior features, the 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line comes with black headliner, “R-Line” logo on the steering wheel and stainless-steel door sills. Standard as well is the Modular Infotainment Platform (MIB II) system.

In the engine department, the all-new 2018 Tiguan R-Line is equipped with a 2.0-liter TSI turbocharged engine with a high-performance eight-speed automatic transmission. Volkswagen Group has also introduced the 4Motion All-Wheel-Drive system as optional and at extra cash.
