Toronto is currently hosting the Canadian largest auto show, with lots of US-spec models to be released in their latest form. Hyundai is also present at the event with the all-new 2018 Accent, which will reach US dealerships in a couple of weeks.
The new 2018 Accent is way too above and advanced compared to the ongoing model, coming with improved design cues, better chassis and a plethora of high-end features inside. Not to mention the upgraded mills under the hood.
Visually, we are dealing with a more evolutionary design, highlighted by the more prominent front grille with chrome accents, adding curved fog lights, sharper headlights and taillights and so on, all making the model look more aggressive.
The company`s new gadgets are also found inside the new Accent, meaning the new 7.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, along with voice-controlled functions, dual USB as so on.
Other features also include new airbags for the front side, Autonomous Emergency Braking, rearview camera and some new mechanics under the hood that improve the car`s performance.
Speaking about performance, the 2018 Hyundai Accent packs an upgraded 1.6-liter flat-four engine with 132 horsepower and 119 lb-ft of torque, which is a 4.5 percent torque increase compared to the ongoing model. This means that the sprint from 0 to 80 km/h has improved with 0.2 seconds, while the 80 to 120 km/h sprint now comes with a 1.3-second improvement.
All these new performance figures are achieved thanks to the new piston rings, upgraded ECU, variable fuel pressure module and six-speed automatic transmission.
