The German specialists from VATH released the details on their newest tuning kit based on the Mercedes CL 500 (C216). From the standard 383hp, the power increases to 454hp and 600 Nm of torque thanks to a new air filter, sport camshafts and of course a remapped ECU unit.
These changes are applied to an older engine, more exactly the 5.5-liter V8 unit that was replaced with a 4.6-liter V8 if we refer to the current generation. A quad-pipe exhaust system is now available together with additional coolers but also the German models is able to reach a top speed of 290 km/h thanks to VATH tuners who lifted the limitations. Other improvements include a new suspension and a new high peformance brake system.
At the exterior, a carbon fiber rear diffuser is available in the rear while in the front the Germans fitted a front spoiler lip. The appearance is also improved through a set of 20-inch forged rims fitted with 245/30ZR20 front and 285/25ZR20 rear tires.
Inside, VATH opted for a sport steering wheel, special floor mats and carbon fiber trim.
