The VXR version of the Vauxhall Astra is getting a new special edition with a twist. The Vauxhall Astra VXR Arctic Special Edition marks the outgoing of this model as the company is going to soon present a new hot Astra that will be based on new generation platform that is already available with less powerful engines.
What’s so special about this Astra? Well it’s just a limited edition appearance pack as nothing has been done to the chassis, suspension, drive train or even to the engine which is still the 2 liter turbocharged inline four beast from the “old” VXR. The 240 horsepower the engine provides are enough to get this hot hatch to 60 in just over 6 seconds and reach a top speed of 152 mph.
If nothing happened underneath the car, on the visual side there’s quite a lot going on. Firstly, the 500 units that will make this limited edition of the Astra VXR will all be painted in Olympic White with some excellent black accessories such as the roof, mirror covers, radiator grille and tailgate trim.
Something extra that Vauxhall will add to make this car really special is the heated leather Recaro front seats and the black 19 inch multi-spoke alloy wheels. Still not enough? How about the exclusive offer to have a panoramic roof on your VXR?
UK pricing for the Vauxhall Astra VXR Arctic Special edition is announced to be £23.595 which considering is just a bit over £700 more than the regular VXR yet you get some £1950 worth of options included is a bargain.
The Vauxhall Astra VXR is also known as the Opel Astra OPC.
