After revealing the impressive but just concept Eterne, people from Lotus introduced the new Elite convertible scheduled to debut somewhere in 2014. The rear wheel drive front-mid-engined model will benefit from two versions, one using a convensional engine, more exactly a V8 engine able to deliver 612 horsepower and 720 Nm of torque. The optional is a hybrid engine benefiting from the KERS (Kinetic Energy Recovery System), able of 215 g/km CO2 emissions.
In terms of dimensions, the 2+2 hardtop Lotus Elite is 4.60 meters long, 1.32 meters tall and 1.90 meters wide. Lotus claimed that the new Elite set for release in spring 2014 will set a new benchmark regarding the main features of a car, such as design and performance.
The new Lotus Elite will weight 1,650 kilograms making the V8 petrol engine able to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds while the announced top speed is 315 km/h. Lotus revealed also an estimative price that is around £115,000.
