Infiniti has just started production of the 2016 Q30 model at the company`s factory in Sunderland, in the United Kingdom, the model hitting dealerships at the beginning of 2016.

The 2016 Infiniti Q30 is the company`s first model to be built in Europe, the entire investment for the European facility costing Infiniti around 250 million GBP. This lead to the employment of hundreds of jobs as well as the development of a fully automated new body shop.

The 2016 Infiniti Q30 will be built atop the Mercedes` MFA platform, also underpinning the A-, B-, CLA- and GLA-Class, but will also come with its own bits and personal styling.

In the engine department, the 2016 Q30 will be offered with a wide range of engines, including both petrol burners as well as diesels.

The petrol engines refer to the 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder mill with two power configurations: 122 HP and 156 HP. A higher 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder will also join the club, with 211 horsepower.

The diesels will receive the 1.5-liter with 109 horsepower or the more potent 2.2 liter unit with 170 horsepower. All engines will be equipped with a choice of a six-speed manual or a seven-speed dual-clutch.
