There is no wonder why the Alpine`s A110 keeps popping-up in the spotlights numerous times; it is all part of its campaign strategy in Europe. The model was recently seen in a first video outside the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, which is showcasing it while being driven in the Alps.
Behind the wheel is Nicolas Lapierre, the 2016 FIA WEC LMP2 champion, which put the car`s 1.8-liter turbo engine to the final tests.
The model is getting ready for its production line in Dieppe, and will reach its final destination in European dealerships at the beginning of the year. Other markets like the UK and Japan will have it early next year.
As a reminder, the direct rival of the Porsche Cayman and Alfa Romeo 4C comes with a light body style, thanks to the all-aluminum platform with aluminum composites, increasing its performance. It also comes with advanced aerodynamics and the latest mechanics – Brembo aluminum brake calipers, rear brakes with integrated brake actuator, 18-inch aluminum wheels by Otto Fuchs, Sabelt one-piece bucket seats, and so on, all saving significant weight.
Performance wise, the Alpine A110 features a 1.8-liter turbocharged engine with 247 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque, allowing a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds, at a top speed electronically limited at 250 km/h. Prices will be revealed in the UK prior to its official debut.
