Video: How about Taking the 2018 Lexus LC 500 Coupe for a Drifting Session?

View

We recently have had the pleasure of watching an Aston Martin V12 Vantage S going for a drifiting session, which is rather unusual for such a big car with a big engine, not to mention that the model was built for fast sprints, and not for drifting.

Now, we have a new task for you: is this 2018 Lexus LC 500 Coupe ready to go for a drifting session as well? Is it fit for such an astonishing act?

Well, from what I believe, yes it can. It is a lightweight coupe with extraordinary dynamics and sheer performance under the hood, not to mention the fact that it comes with a rear-wheel driver configuration. However, the video below is showcasing Basem Wasef behind the wheel, ready for a drifting session. Let`s see if he manages to do that.

Meanwhile, let`s have a look at the car`s performance figures. This particular model comes with a naturally aspirated V8 engine, which is good for 467 horsepower and 527 Nm of torque. That means that it provides a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds.

What`s more, its LC500h sibling is also powerful and worthy for a drifting session as well, the hybrid coming with a 3.5-liter V6 and an electric motor, developing a total of 354 horsepower, being sent to the wheels via a four-speed automatic gearbox. The same 100 km/h sprint is done in an amazing 4.9 seconds.

Once arriving on the market next year, the 2018 Lexus LC 500 Coupe will be a real blast, tackling the likes of BMW 6-Series or or Jaguar F-Type. Prices will be announced prior to its arrival in dealerships. Meanwhile, just take a look at the video and see for yourself if it can drift!
