The 2016 Porsche Carrera S is popping up in our news again, this time the model being recorded while revving its engine on the tracks at the Hockenheim. Two other videos are also showcasing the car`s centered exhaust and the sport button inside, which changes the sound of the twin exhaust system.
The videos are also a clear indication that Porsche has decided to move on with different types of engines, dropping the naturally aspirated engines in the favor of new twin-turbos. The reason is pretty obvious: the carmaker wants more fuel-efficiency for its models.
The 2016 Porsche Carrera standard version is packing the 3.0-liter flat-six engine, with 370 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque, while the Carrera S seen here is coming with a higher 420 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque.
Both versions are hooked to the PDK transmission and can be also had with the Sport Chrono Package. This makes the 2016 Carrera regular version reach 4.2 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h, while the 2016 Carrera S is capable of 3.9 seconds for the same distance.
In terms of fuel-consumption, the 2016 Porsche Carrera will be more efficient, with around 12 % more than the present naturally aspirated model. This means that in the new Carrera S, the sports car will come just 7.7L for every 100 km.
