Volkswagen has developed a certain safety feature that will be used on its cars. While not being something completely new, the Side Assist technology is designed to warn drivers of other objects that are in the mirrors’ blind spots.
And to show off the feature, the German company released a short and witty video portraying the advantages.
The system consists of two radar devices that scan the area up to 50 meters behind the car. When an object is detected in the blind spot, a light turns on the respective side’s mirror.
This should help a lot in traffic, virtually eliminating one of the inconveniences we all have faced at one time or another while driving. The video presented by Volkswagen focuses on the motorcycles, that tend to sneak up on you from the blind spot.
