The Germans at Volkswagen released details on the 2013 Amarok pickup, a model which will get an improved equipment line but also a replacement unit for the 163-horsepower diesel engine.
To start off with the performance improvements, VW provides a new BiTDI diesel capable to deliver 180 horsepower and a fuel economy of 8 liters/100km (35,3mpg UK) with CO2 emissions of 211 g/km.
Volkswagen also offers the BlueMotion technology for this engine, a system which is able to provide even better fuel consumption numbers, namely 7,6 liters/100km (37,2mpg UK) and CO2 emissions of 199 g/km.
The acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is possible in 11 seconds while the towing capacity is also improved to 3 tones (manual transmission) or 3,2 tones (automatic gearbox).
“The Amaroks from Germany are now arriving in Van Centre showrooms, with demonstrators available for test drives,” says the company.
Last but not least, the new Amarok will benefit from larger 19-inch alloy wheels, cornering fog lights, Bluetooth connectivity and a pair of front and rear parking sensors.
