Volkswagen officially introduces the new open-top version of the Beetle in the home market, Germany. Priced from €21,350, the Beetle Convertible is powered by a 1.2-liter petrol unit capable to deliver 104 horsepower and linked to a six-speed dual-clutch DSG transmission.
A more powerful petrol variant with 158 horsepower is available as well as a 1.6-liter TDI with 104 horses.
If the base model starts at €21,350, the range-topping 2.0-liter TDI 138hp model is priced from €27,950.
North American buyers will see the new model in premiere at the upcoming Los Angeles Auto Show. The German convertible variant will debut there later this year, most probably in December.
The most frugal variant is the 105hp diesel model which is capable to offer a combined fuel economy of 4,5 liters/100km with CO2 emissions of 119 g/km. You can find detailed pricing information in the pricing sheet below.
