Volkswagen C Coupe GTE Concept Spotted on the Road

View

Volkswagen has sent the upcoming C Coupe GTE Concept on the road for some tests in camouflage, the model being caught on camera before its final release at the end of 2016.

This wouldn’t be the first time to deal with the C Coupe GTE, as it was first unveiled at the 2016 Shanghai Auto Show, the concept presuming to lead the way to the future Phaeton model.

Unfortunately, according to the latest rumors, this would be a China-only version, and the black camouflage clearly indicates this fac. More than that, we are looking here at a stretched sedan, meaning that it is particularly aimed for China. If the model had worn a black and white disguise, we would have hinted at a European model.

As for the body tweaks it will come with, judging from the dual exhaust tips, this one would be a purely conventional model and not a hybrid, which would clearly have indicated a future Phaeton.

As for the platform it will ride on, the Volkswagen C Coupe GTE concept was caught on tests near the new Passat model, meaning that it will underpin the same new CLAR platform.

Prior to its debut on the Chinese market, the concept is likely to receive a new production name. So far, the performance figures are unknown, but we should expect fresh news later on.
