Volkswagen officially announced that the Cross Coupe concept, a prototype already presented at the Tokyo Motor Show, will hit the stage at Geneva. The German concept benefits from two electric motors placed in the front and rear for a total output of 302 horsepower.
The company replaced the TSI gasoline unit with a four-cylinder turbodiesel unit obtaining a combined fuel economy of 1,8 liters/100 km (131mpg US).
With a total weight of 1,858 and with more than 300 horses under the bonnet, the VW Cross Coupe concept easily hits a top speed of 220 km/h.
The new Cross Coupe concept features a futuristic appearance with a new front grille, LED lights, large alloy wheels and a matching two-color interior trim.
We have no idea if Volkswagen plans to develop a model based on the Cross Coupe concept but we are sure that all these questions will be answered at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show which is just about to start.
