Volkswagen presented the new Golf GTD Variant, a model aimed especially to families. It is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 184 horses and 380 Nm of torque for a 0-100 km/h sprint in 7,9 seconds and a top speed of around 230 km/h.
At the exterior, buyers will get 17-inch Curitiba alloy wheels, bi-xenon headlights, revised bumpers and a new front grille. Black roof rails are also available as well as chrome exhaust tips, smoked taillights and other minor tweaks.
At the interior, the VW Golf GTD Variant comes with stainless steel pedal caps, a black headliner, sport seats, aluminum trim and illuminated door sills.
If you are concerned about fuel economy figures, you have to know that the Gran Turismo Diesel (GTD) badge is doing its job. VW announced an average fuel economy of 4,4 liters/100 km or 64 mpg UK).
Pricing on the new German model starts from €31,975 in the home market but can easily go up if you start adding the optional extras. The VW Golf GTD Variant will be unveiled at Geneva.
