Volkswagen UK has released official pricing figures for the new Golf GTI Cabriolet, the first open-top Golf GTI ever produced.
Power is provided by a 2.0-liter turbocharged unit able to deliver 207 horsepower which allows for a 0-100 km/h sprint in 7,3 seconds and a top speed of 237 km/h.
The company announces a combined fuel economy of 37,2mpg UK for the manual transmission model while the DSG one is rated at 36,7mpg UK while the CO2 emissions range from 177 to 180g/km.
At the exterior, the roofless Golf GTI sports 18-inch alloy wheels, new front and rear bumpers, side sills, new front grille while inside you get a flat-bottom steering wheel wrapped in leather and sport seats.
The cloth top of the new Golf GTI Cabriolet can be operated at speeds of up 29 km/h. According to Volkswagen, it takes only 9,5 seconds for the hydraulically operated top to open/close.
The VW Golf GTI Cabriolet with manual transmission starts at £29,310 while the DSG-equipped model is priced from £30,610.
