The Volkswagen Golf R 400 concept was certainly a welcome breath of fresh air at the Beijing Motor Show earlier this year. However, since then, we haven’t got a chance to see the German concept on video and hear the 400hp engine which sits under the hood.
Fortunately, the VW Golf R 400 concept was spotted in Vienna while it was loaded into a truck. The 2.0-liter turbocharged engine producing 400 horses and 450 Nm of torque certainly sounds promising.
Helped by a 4MOTION all-wheel drive system, it offers a 0-100 km/h sprint in 3,9 seconds with a top speed of 280 km/h.
We are glad to see and hear the German concept and we have some hopes that it could enter production.
There are some rumors saying that a production model based on the VW Golf R 400 concept will be unveiled but for now, there are no official details.
