The German people from Volkswagen decided to release the sales figures of their models in Europe for 2011. The first place in terms of sales is occupied by Volkswagen Golf, a model which reached its sixth generation.
Even though the German model is almost at the end of its life, Volkswagen following to introduce the new generation later this year, the Wolfsburg-based model managed to take the crown.
According to the company, no less than 484,547 units were delivered in Europe last year, a drop of 1,6% comparing to 2010. Believe it or not, the second place of this ranking is taken by another model bearing VW’s badge, namely the Polo. The German company managed to sell 356,490 cars, an increase of 0,5% over the same period of the previous year.
The third place has been secured by Ford Fiesta, the American company delivering 348,465 units in 2011, with a noticeable decrease of 13,3%.
Volkswagen dominated the European market last year with a total of 1,678,279 units, Ford and Renault completing the podium. You can get more details about the sales figures and the other brands in the image above.
