Volkswagen has revealed the official launch of the future electric crossover, referred to as the ID.2X. This newest line is destined to replace the T-Cross model, and it is planned to be presented at the Munich Motor Show in the fall. As someone who is keen on the automotive industry, I am happy that Volkswagen is pushing the acceleration pedal on the EV market.

The Launch
The new ID.2X model will be launched in the third year of this year and is considered to be a big step for Volkswagen from Germany. This has to be not just an electric version of the T-Cross, but a subcompact electric vehicle in its right. The ID.2X is in many ways a ruggedized variant of the ID.2 that VW Group is set to launch. In my opinion, the strategies implemented by Volkswagen are in tune with the latest trends because of the mobility and eco-friendly automobiles.

Pricing and Powertrain
It does not come as a surprise that the ID.2X is expected to cost less than 30,000 euros for the base model. On this basis, it can be said that the price of this electric vehicle is quite reasonable, taking into account the given features. The car is built on a ‘modular’ shorter version of the MEB platform, and the installation of a single electric motor at the front of the car is incorporated. This motor produces 223 horsepower.
The two options will be available to the users in terms of battery capacity: 38 kWh and 56 kWh. Because of the greater capacity of the battery, the car offers an impressive autonomy of approximately 450 km. This is the reason why I believe this range will attract buyers who are concerned with environment-friendly cars, which are also reliable and efficient.
Design and Features
As for the exterior of the ID.2X, it will be as solid as the needs of an off-road car require; the model will be equipped with a number of protective features. The car measures 4.1 meters in length and has an impressive wheelbase of 2600mm, thus giving it a compact look that is familiar with lots of space. Despite this pro, it is again a small car because it has limited boot space, extending up to 490 liters at its back.
In the interior, the ID.2X is equipped with a digital instrument cluster of 10.9 inches as well as a central touch screen of 12.9 inches, greatly contributing to the latest generation of cars. The physical controls for the temperature and the radio volume that are present are a plus for those that like the use of physical knobs. In my opinion, it is also good to have both types of interfaces in the design of the vehicles’ cabins.
Conclusion
The Volkswagen ID.2X is set to bring another energy to the EV market. Thus, with such reasonable cost, complex build, and features, there will be a wide potential consumer base. It is for these reasons that I think this may be a valuable model to assist Volkswagen in resolving the social issues that are present and, as a result, sustainably shape the automobile company.
The ID.2X is a reasonable notion as a new vehicle model from Volkswagen that is involved in the production and marketing of electric cars. Overall, some of its features, such as its affordability and incorporation of technology and design, make it one of a kind as more producers come into the market with electric crossover models. I eagerly await the results that it is to show on the roads as to whether it will fulfill the expectations of buyers seeking an environmentally friendly automobile.
