Volkswagen joins with the Malaysian manufacturer DRB Hicom

The Germans from Volkswagen decided to sign a partnership with the Malaysian people from DRB Hicom even in the beginning VW was just about to sign the partnership with Proton, another local manufacturer and distributor. According to this partnership, Volkswagen will build the Passat in a Malaysian plant, in Pekan, but just after an investment of $320 million.

However, the units made in Malaysia starting next year won’t reach Malaysian customers as there are some big taxes for the models coming outside the country. Volkswagen, the biggest brand in Europe wants to become the best worldwide by 2018 and this is a step forward in this regard.

The global VW’s plans are even bigger, they plan to invest about $68 billion in the next four years in order to surpass Toyota which currently leads the automotive world. Of course, when we talk about Volkswagen, we mean all the brands led by the Germans, such as Lamborghini, Audi, Skoda and Seat.
